Also, I've gotten my share of haters. They comment here and write me on Facebook also saying my "hype" soon will end and that they want 2 kill me. All anonymous of course, 2 bad cause tonight I sort of want to take them up on that offer.

Aloysius sez the haters have a point. That my current header makes me look like some "wannabe hipster".
But on the other hand he told me I looked like a "giggeling whore" @ the Gucci party when I accidentally laughed @ something one of the french guys said.

ReplyDeleteI still think you are a good writer and extremely clever at marketing. And being derogatorily called a hipster, well, you know that automatically makes the person who did a hipster too. Still, I can see a few things that might annoy people: you switch between "ordinary" orthography and "text message" orthography, and it's not clear why you do it when you do it. Further, of course encouraging facebook "Like"s as aggressively as you do is a wise strategy, but what about those of your readers who are not using facebook (like me)? I would really have liked to read that encoded bit of text in a recent post but there is no way for me to get the password...

Your aggressive marketing strategy has really began to annoy me. While I still (generally) like your posts), the 'like me' 'follow me' blah blah blah annoys me so much! In fact, it just makes me not click follow or like! Your blog was good enough for people to follow without you begging... just focus on making good quality posts and writing, not so much on trying to gain followers.

As for the deasing, as far as the header is particularly concerned... it seems to me its goin a bit different way than style of the rest of ur blog. My impression. ReplyDeleteKeep it personal, that's why everyone loved it! Enough with the huge header (stick to the old) and the "like" this.. add me here stuff. All you need are links at the bottom of you page, trust me.. you will probably get more followers if you give them the links without you begging for them to click them. People will naturally be drawn to them since they are already reading your blog. It also makes your page so much personal, not like a company trying to promote itself, it would feel more like a diary if you excluded your begging.

ReplyDeletethis is not me hating on you but I feel the need to be honest. while your blog has its charms I don't appreciate the way you send out so many promotional emails for this blog and your previous one, snake in the grass. Also, your internet speak ("sez" "2") gets very irritating very quickly. I do get the sense you are trying really hard and it is a turn off. also, any web designer will tell you that your header should be small enough to leave room for posts "above the fold".
